Dear Tammie and Ken,

What an incredible experience my son and I had on your Mountain View Elk Ranch. The drive up the mountain as the rain turned to snow, stopping at your cabin on top of the mountain to prepare for our hunt and then the search for the elk set the stage for the excitement that followed!

Thank you Ken for setting us up so perfectly to have the hunt of a lifetime. Our elk hunt is a memory my son, Adolphus and I will always cherish.

Many Thanks,

Sincerely,

Ann Busch

Dear Ken,

I had a really great time shooting my first elk with you. Your property is so beautiful and the elk are huge!

I am excited that I got the biggest one and I’m so happy that my Mom got and elk too!

I had a great time, you are a really good guide.

Thank you so much,

Adolphus Busch

Hello all:

We made it home ok. No problem. Stopped at the map place in Grangeville but they did not have a map then went that far west. She was very interested in your hunting place so we gave her one of your booklets. She just moved to the area and said her husband is a hunter. Maybe you will get another customer?? We ate all the cookies on the way home. Thank-you so much!! Got all the elk meat in the freezer up to the top. We need not go out and buy another one. Thank-you again for the wonderful hunt. I will never forget it!!!!!’Hope to see you here in March for the show.

Love,

Norm & Esie

Tammie & Ken,

Thank-you for inviting us into your home for dinner. Roger is thrilled with his hunt.

Thank-you Ken and Tammie for the hunt of a life-time. The scenery on your Mt. View Elk Ranch was absolutely spectacular. Everything was made easy & convenient for the hunter. Yes, we bagged a “big one” (trophy elk), but also you helped fulfill a dream come true. Thanks again for your warm hospitality. Can’t wait to get home to tell our friends abut Mt. View Elk Ranch.

Thanks again,

Lloyd & Gerry

Dear Tammie & Ken Walters

Thank-you! We had a wonderful experience & a great time hunting elk on your Ranch. Being that, this is my first time elk hunting.

I couldn’t believe my eyes. There was so many elk to choose from. I’ve seen it on T.V. But, Live! “WOW”! What a awesome experience. Seeing was believing. We will sure let everyone back home know about Mountain Elk Ranch. “The Elk Experience.”

Hopefully, if the good lord permits, we can come back next season with our sons. So, that they may have the same experience we had. From gun check to good home cook meals to the elk experience.

Like w would say in Hawaii “Mahalo Nui Loa’A Hui Hou” means “Thank you very much & till we meet again.

Aloha,

Thank you very much for returning the watch. I would also like to thank you for the awesome time I had while hunting at Mt. View. You run a top notch ranch, with excellent accommodations and service. You and your entire family were wonderful to be around, and made the hunt even more enjoyable. I look forward to returning next year and would not hesitate to recommend Mt. View to anyone who is looking for that hunt of a life time. Thank you again and good luck.

Dear Ken, Tammie, Brad and Sarah

Thank-your so much for the hunt of a lifetime. Before I booked a trip to Mountain View Elk Ranch I spent 13 months doing research and phone calls to hunting outfitters and private Elk Ranches all across the U.S.A. and Canada. Most of them had hidden fees it wasn’t even funny. The country and view was spectacular not to mention the magnificent lodge and all the beautiful animal mounts. Your home cooked meals are second to none!! You folks went above and beyond the call of duty to make my stay, and hunt the trip of a lifetime. I will be booking another hunt to Mountain View Elk Ranch.

Thank-you so Much!!!

Just got back from another elk hunt in unit 10 – weather was 75 degrees @ 6,000 feet – my butt and knees are sore from riding and whole body is sore from walking – not elk!

I was just thinking how much more enjoyable your elk hunt was – with Brad as a very good guide, Ken and Tammie as very good host and cooks and Sarah – who had her hands full.

Anyway I just wanted to write a note and tell you how much fun Mountain View Elk Ranch is. I will tell all my friends.

Thank-you

Thank you for the wonderful time we had at Mountain View Elk Ranch. Matt was very pleased with the archery bull he got. The cabin was first class and a pleasure to stay in. I especially enjoyed driving the jeep, scouting for elk. The food was delicious. We would recommend Mountain View Elk Ranch to anyone.

Dear Ken, Tammie, Brad and Sarah

I’m a fairly good “talker” but a so, so writer. But still I hope to convey how extraordinary the hunt was that Jerry and I had at your exceptional facility this September. The quality of the setting, the lodge, the food and the service are almost impossible to describe to people who ask:“How was that Elk Hunt you went on?” The 150 photos and video we came back with sure help with “problem”. The bulls we shot – one with a bow and one with a muzzle loader were exceptional by anyone’s standards. Truly “a once in a lifetime hunt.” (But it may become a more than “once” since both of us are considering a return trip.)

Staying a few days in your lodge and interacting with such a gracious family is worth far more than the “price of admission.” Touring and hunting the ranch with Brad guiding is a hunter’s dream come true. Please feel free to use us as a reference anytime. I would very much enjoy relating our experience to anyone considering booking a hunt with you folks, but would like to talk to a “local” who has been there first.

We will see you in Lewiston as soon as we can and again at the The Big Horn Show this winter.

MOUNTAIN VIEW ELK RANCH

Ken, Tammie, Brad, Sarah and Raney Marie,

Peaceful, serene, breath-taking, beautiful and so pleasurable were some of the words we used to describe our visit with you…and the hunt was pretty awesome too! We can’t think you enough for your wonderful homegrown hospitality, warmth and kindness we received while we were there.

Than you for taking such good care of Scott while I was sick. I wished I would have been able to “talk story” more instead of feeling so helpless. Thank you for cooking such delicious meals, I didn’t even have a chance to cook something or do something for all of you…Scott felt so much at ease with all of you: he is normally very bashful and doesn’t speak very much… and now at home, he can’t stop talking about all of you and your beautiful place. I’m certain that we will definitely come back one day for Crazy Top or another one just like him.

The hunting trip and Brad’s guidance along with his expertise was beyond and words…we surely enjoyed his company, his knowledge and friendship. You were so awesome, Brad, thank you so much for making Scott’s elk hunt such a magical and wonderful experience, one that he and I will always remember and cherish.

Hopefully someday you and Sarah will visit us: I don’t think we can compare with the wonderful hospitality we experienced, but we will most certainly do our best to extend our fondest Aloha to you.

Thanks Tammie for taking the time and energy to drive us to the taxidermy. We surely appreciated it very much…

I didn’t get to hug Raney because I didn’t want her to get what I had, but we have enclosed a little hula outfit for Miss Raney Marie to enjoy…once again, thank you for everything!

Much Aloha,

Scott and Juslyn Sept. 18, 2004

To whom it may concern

I am writing this letter to express my opposition to the bills that aim to close private hunting ranches in the state of Idaho.

I strongly urge you to support private hunting ranches in Idaho. I am 66 years old and can no longer hike in to remote locations, shoot an elk and get it out to my camp or pickup. A hunting ranch is perfect for me, I am sure that I am not alone in my opinion.

While I understand that a hunting ranch is not the answer for everyone, For many people this type of hunt is ideal. Older people, physically disabled, and youngsters on their first hunt will all have a positive experience on a private hunting ranch.

I recently hunted at the Mountain View elk ranch in Riggins, in October, 2006. Shooting my trophy elk with these very professional and efficient people was one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever had.

Hunters have a right to decide whether they want to hunt on public lands or on a private hunting ranch. It should be an individual choice. Please don’t take away our right to choose!

Please vote in favor of allowing private hunting ranches to continue their current operations.

Sincerely,

Stanley T. Yates
